everyone here at chonta records and everyone involved with last month's V encuentro of colombian musicians in new york would like to thank you for coming out and making the evening such a huge success in every way.  let us know what you thought!

## *sebastian cruz (coba) new project live on wfmu*

sebastian cruz, the mind behind the wonderful coba, has a new project called "cheap landscape," and it'll blow your mind.  this is colombian, no doubt, but with a cello, a bass, and sebastian's frenetic distorted guitar, it's something you've never heard before.  they play distorted cumbias, punk fandangos, dizzy bullerengues and more cultural incongruencies of that sort.  it's something we're really excited about here, and it was a huge hit at the encuentro.  listen here.

all the positive reviews and international festivals piled up, and we sold out of the first printing of ricardo gallo's debut, los cerros testigos.  but for our second printing, we've repackaged the cd in a sleek new envelope with fresher cover art and the same great songs.  buy it in our store.
